FAQ

Please reach us at [email protected] if you cannot find an answer to your question.

What nail treatments do you offer?

We offer a range of treatments including file and polish, gel nails, luxury manicures, pedicures, BIAB, and hand and foot care treatments designed to leave nails looking beautifully finished and cared for.

How should I prepare for my nail appointment?

For the best treatment experience, we recommend arriving with nails free from polish or gel where possible.

If you currently have gel, BIAB, or another product on your nails, please let us know when booking so we can allow the correct treatment time.

Avoid using heavy hand creams or oils immediately before your appointment where possible.

Do I need to book a gel removal or soak off?

Yes please.

If you already have gel, BIAB, or another nail product on your nails, please ensure a soak off or removal service is booked alongside your treatment where required.

This allows enough time for safe and professional removal without rushing your appointment.

What if I already have another salon’s gel or acrylic on my nails?

Please let us know before your appointment if you currently have products applied elsewhere.

Different brands and systems can vary in removal time and condition. We do not remove acrylic systems at Hazelwood, so contacting us beforehand helps us advise the most suitable option and avoid disappointment on the day.

How long should I leave my gel nails on for?

For best nail health and appearance, we usually recommend maintaining gel nails every 2–3 weeks.

Over time gel products continue to harden with natural daylight exposure, which can make them less flexible on the natural nail if left on too long.

Regular professional maintenance and removal helps keep nails looking and feeling their best.

Will gel nails damage my natural nails?

When professionally applied, maintained, and removed correctly, gel products should not damage the natural nail.

Picking, peeling, or forcefully removing gel at home is one of the most common causes of nail damage, so we always recommend professional removal where possible.

What if a nail chips or peels after my appointment?

While gel products are designed for durability, nails are still exposed to everyday wear and lifestyle factors.

If you experience any concerns after your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible and we will be happy to advise.

What should I wear for a pedicure?

Open toe footwear or flip flops are recommended after traditional polish pedicures to help avoid smudging while the polish fully dries.

Gel polish treatments are cured during the appointment and allow immediate drying.

How long will my nail appointment take?

Treatment times vary depending on the service booked and whether removals, nail art, or additional treatments are included.

Approximate treatment times can be found within each service description when booking.

I’m not sure which nail treatment to book

That’s completely fine.

Our therapists are happy to guide you based on your nail goals, lifestyle, and maintenance preferences to help you choose the most suitable treatment.

Is there any aftercare advice for gel nails?

To help maintain your nails, we recommend wearing gloves for cleaning, using cuticle oil regularly, and avoiding picking or peeling the product.

Professional maintenance appointments every few weeks will help keep nails healthy and looking their best.
